Baker, Tolot, Dudman and Knight sign on as IMATS speakers

Some of the biggest names in make-up artistry have been added as keynote speakers for the International Make-up Artist Trade Show, held in London in 2008. In addition to six-time Oscar winner Rick Baker, IMATS will feature Francesca Tolot , Amanda Knight and Nick Dudman.

Rick Baker worked on some of the biggest blockbusters of the last 30 years: Star Wars, Harry and the Hendersons, Mighty Joe Young, Men in Black, The Nutty Professor, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Planet of the Apes, X-Men: The Last Stand and Click. In 1981, he received the very first Oscar for Achievement in Makeup for his work on An American Werewolf in London. Over the course of his career, Baker has won six Oscars, five Saturn awards, three BAFTA Awards and an Emmy, among many other honors.

Baker will speak at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Nick Dudman and his team created the make-up effects and animatronic creatures in the Harry Potter films, garnering BAFTA and Saturn nominations for all the films to date. Dudman’s first job was on Star Wars: Episode V—The Empire Strikes Back. He went on to work on such films as Batman, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Interview with a Vampire and many others.  You can see his latest work in the sixth Harry Potter film, where he joined Amanda Knight.

Dudman will speak with Amanda Knight at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Amanda Knight’s formidable career as a make-up designer has included work on Willow, Braveheart and all of the Harry Potter movies.  She has been nominated for three Saturn awards and three British Academy of Film and Television Awards for her work on the Harry Potter series (including the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is currently in production).

Knight will speak with Nick Dudman at 4 p.m. Saturday.

All of the speakers have won multiple honors, including Saturn and British Academy of Film and Television awards.

Francesca Tolot will discuss her long and flourishing career on Sunday afternoon. Tolot’s stunning creativity has been showcased in music videos, fashion magazines and at the world’s top award shows. She has created looks for Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Faith Hill, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Christina Aguilera.Tolot's work on Aguilera's "The Fighter" video, in fact, won her a Music Video Producer Awards nomination for Best Make-Up. (For more on her music-video work, see Make-Up Artist magazine's current article "Making Faces.") Her work with Beyoncè over the years has also received global recognition, including the looks she created for the movie Dreamgirls.  Everyone is talking about this artist–come hear what she has to say about her career, her success and the make-up industry.

Tolot will speak at 4 p.m. Sunday.
